Ceramist Diel Gray describes his work as a "Conversation."  The clay allows him to assert himself, and at times, he allows the clay to have the dominant voice. The creative exchange between the artist and the creation is always dynamic. This ongoing conversation deals with topics that might seem abstract to the beholder, but we all have a visceral response to objects that have something to say.

As story teller and artist, George Sánchez creates works rooted in the human condition, that individually express a message, emotion, or an authentic experience. In “Smiley Face Suite” , every figure has a story to tell, each having their unique persona. This series of nine quirky happy faces does not disappoint.
